Did Wyatt Earp have any children?

William T. Jewell

Glasgow, Kentucky

Earp didn’t have any children with his three wives. Author and researcher Casey Tefertiller, who wrote Wyatt Earp: The Life Behind the Legend, says: “There are several stories about Earp having illegitimate children; none of them have ever really amounted to anything. I tend to write it off to someone seeking attention, unless there is something compelling about it. Most of the stories involve Earp having illicit affairs after returning from Alaska. This is very possible, since his third wife Sadie (also called Josie) said that he cheated on her. So it is possible that Earp had an illegitimate child, but no evidence has surfaced to support it.”
