Event Map
Event Information
| Description | The temporary exhibit "Boomed, Busted & Bought-Out Again", May 16 through January 4, will present an overview of the history of mining in New Mexico, ranging from the mining of turquoise by Native Americans to the gold booms of the 1830s and 1880s to the current mining of copper, potash, gold, and uranium across the state. Rarely seen photographs of early mining and materials from museums from nearby states will tell the story of mining's impact on life in the Southwest. |
